It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? How you been? What’s new?
Me? Oh I’m great, thanks for asking. What’s new with me?
I actually just started a crypto fund. It’s called Comma Partners.
You probably just furrowed your brow and smushed your face into a confused grimace, didn’t you?
A crypto fund? What the hell Devin, you’re really all over the place these days, aren’t you?
Yes, a crypto fund.
It may seem to you like a total left turn from all that I’ve been doing here with Comma, but in fact, it’s all very much connected.
For one, as you can gather from some of my writing, crypto has been a deep personal passion of mine for about 4 years. Crypto is by far my biggest investment, and most listened-to podcast topic.
Over the last couple years in particular, I’ve been thinking deeply about what work is worth doing, and exploring how to build a life that doesn’t feel so fragmented between work and non-work parts, and that re-thinks how things are done.
And throughout it all, it turns out that I am still indeed a business nerd. A weekly All-In Podcast ritual, locked in to Marc Andreessen on Rogan - hell, I even attended a conference for the Founders Podcast.
Investing is a practice that, to me, is about more than it seems on the surface.
Combine that with my ever-intensifying obsession with and conviction in crypto - a wave that I still believe, even years later, presents the most asymmetrically attractive opportunity I see in our world - and it’s clear to me that starting Comma Partners is the next right thing.
In fact, this next chapter of Comma feels very much like a homecoming in some sense.
It’s bridging many different parts of me, my life, and my work to date.
It’s tying parts together in the story that is my life.
Just like a comma.
To say I’m excited and energized is an understatement.
I’ll be sharing (much) more going forward, but for now, let me just say:

February 2025 update for Comma Partners Fear? Overblown --- I believe the most probable scenario is that we’ve seen the majority of this wash out as the market has reacted with fear to the bold change (and resulting uncertainty) that Trump and his team have brought into office.
